A community bank with roots in South Central Indiana and branches in nine counties, People’s State Bank was founded in 1904. According to Juli Magness, “Because People’s Bank never entered into sub-prime lending, the banking crisis never affected us. We remain safe and secure due to sound management decisions that kept us away from the problems that are hurting so many banks of the industry.” People’s Bank Mission Statement: To provide quality products and services at a fair price to the communities we serve in a friendly hometown atmosphere; to provide a safe and profitable return for our shareholders; and to provide a pleasant working experience for our employees. People’s Bank’s main office is in Ellettsville, IN.

Juli Magness joined the Morgantown branch of People’s Bank 11 years ago as an assistant manager, with already a decade of experience under her belt. She became branch manager in 2002. Juli grew up in Columbus, Indiana, and graduated from Columbus North High School. After ten years at Bank One first in Greenwood later their Bloomington branch, she recalls, “People’s bank has always been locally owned and operated. That’s what attracted me to them then, and why I’ve remained here.”
